Bhutan bans the bags: 2007
In the Himalayan Kingdom of Bhutan, where they have a Ministry for Happiness, new laws are being introduced to coincide with opening to the west. Bhutan wants to protect itself from the Westernization many other countries have experienced, therefore they have banned wrestling on TV, advertising hoarding, tobacco, and plastic shopping bags. Like Collingwood, many forward thinking people are taking responsibility for the state of this planet and not leaving it to someone else.
