In response to our letters so far:
The NZ government has said that the 2004 Packaging Accord, which urges retailers to reduce the number of plastic bags by 20% by 2008, is their main policy - even though mid-way through the period (ie. by end 2006) retailers had only reduced the number of plastic bags by a pathetic 1%.
